02 Oct Hacks For Chapped & Cracked Lips After Applying Matte Lipstick
Do you feel chapped and dry lips after applying a matte lipstick? Yes, I felt actually my lips chapped & cracked after using a matte lipstick so I decided to give some tips on matte lipstick. Since winters are coming and winter winds can make your lips drier which actually removes the protective oily layer on your lips.
Exfoliate your lips
- Exfoliate your lips gently with a soft toothbrush to avoid a cakey look. Make sure to rinse and dry after exfoliating so that you don’t leave a film on lips.
- You can also use a homemade lip scrub for cracked & peeling lips. I always prefer to go for a homemade sugar scrub to exfoliate your lips.
Add Moisture
Moisturizing your lips is the best way to cure cracked & chapped lips before applying Matte Lipstick. You can apply a lightweight lip balm or Vaseline to keep lips hydrated. Wait for at least 4-5 minutes to absorb the moisturizer which you’ve just applied to your lips.
Use Lip Liner
Since matte lipstick is often highly pigmented & you want to get it right on your first try. Using a lip liner before applying matte lipstick ensures that you have lines to “color in”.
Apply Your Matte Lipstick
Now, you can apply your matte lipstick straight from a tube or by using a lip brush & finally you are good to go!
